I recently had the pleasure of attending a food and wine tasting for the launch of Taste Catering and Confections at Shelburne Vineyard and Tasting Room.
Owner of Taste Catering, Brian Martell, has described that his focus is providing fabulous food for any budget and taste and that his menus for events are completely customized to suit each clients needs.
At the launch party, I was able to taste his talent for myself! He served a series of hors d’oeurves, small plates, and finally dessert. My personal favorites were the goat cheese crostini with a fig and onion chutney, butternut squash and fennel soup shots, and the roasted 5 spice pork belly with jasmine scented sweet potatos and pickled apple and asian pear slaw. To top off the night, we each took home a ‘goodie bag’ filled with confections that I am still enjoying as I speak…passion fruit french macarons, rocky road bars made with homemade marshmallow (pictured below), truffles…the options that Taste offers truly speaks to the diversity of Brian’s talent.
