I recently had the pleasure of attending a food and wine tasting for the launch of Taste Catering and Confections at Shelburne Vineyard and Tasting Room.
Owner of Taste Catering, Brian Martell, has described that his focus is providing fabulous food for any budget and taste and that his menus for events are completely customized to suit each clients needs.
At the launch party, I was able to taste his talent for myself! He served a series of hors d’oeurves, small plates, and finally dessert. My personal favorites were the goat cheese crostini with a fig and onion chutney, butternut squash and fennel soup shots, and the roasted 5 spice pork belly with jasmine scented sweet potatos and pickled apple and asian pear slaw. To top off the night, we each took home a ‘goodie bag’ filled with confections that I am still enjoying as I speak…passion fruit french macarons, rocky road bars made with homemade marshmallow (pictured below), truffles…the options that Taste offers truly speaks to the diversity of Brian’s talent.

We are so excited about our new Waterbury wedding showroom. We decided about a year ago that it was time for a face lift and to create a space that was in a more convenient location. Although we still have our Waitsfield showroom available by appointment, the new and improved Waterbury showroom is just off the interstate on Main St. in Waterbury.
The light, bright and comfortable atmosphere is the perfect place to talk wedding design, put together your rental order and talk with Jenna and Anastasia about wedding etiquette and the many wonderful vendors we work with.

Not only is the new showroom a great place for couples to meet for their wedding, but we also offer our space for vendors who find it convenient to meet in Waterbury. From tastings to meetings with photographers, floral design meetings and more- just call in advance to schedule a time to meet with clients and the space is all yours.

Having a wedding ceremony in a church can be gorgeous. My fiance and I are choosing to have our ceremony outdoors and recently discussed having a romantic and ethereal ceremony in the middle of the forest…yes, I know, it sounds totally crazy but it can and will be done!
Logistically, this could be a tricky feat. I have yet to find the perfect spot, and I’m a bit worried about making an ample pathway for guests to walk through. With all logistics aside (for now!) WT&E has everything we need to make the ceremony special. Their birch archway or handcrafted huppa, wooden benches or even the rich, mahogany chivari chairs would be lovely.
What is the most bizarre place that you have witnessed a wedding ceremony?
Bethany was the perfect example of our favorite brides…she was so involved with the planning of her wedding and design and truly excited about it every step of the way. With guidance from Jenna at Piper Designs (also event coordinator here at WT&E) Bethany chose luxurious fabrics and colors inspired by Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ and peppered the event with floral designs from Silver Toad. Susanna’s Catering provided a delicious spread for dinner.

I am happy to hear about so many new engagements that happened during the Holidays or New Years Eve…I like to think that this may be the year of love!
For those of you who will choose an indoor venue for your reception such as a barn or inn , be sure to find out what they do not provide and then give us a call so that we can supply the rest.
If you choose the wonderful Vermont landscape as your venue (or a tent, rather) than you should begin your planning with us.
We can begin my making an appointment to visit in our new, Waterbury showroom where we can discuss all of the details and even refer you to other vendors such as caterers, floral designers and photographers. We offer complimentary site visits to determine the location of the tent on the chosen property. Next, we will put together a rental quote and tent layout.
We can provide the tent and everything you need inside! From lounge furniture to dance floors, linen and all that is in between, we literally offer it all. We can also offer custom furniture and pieces upon request, so don’t be afraid to let your imagination run wild.

Vermont has an abundance of fabulous wedding vendors and one great way to locate them is through Vermont Wedding Style’s website. It is such a great resource to not only find the right floral designer, caterer and photographer, but they also offer great tips for wedding planning including their ‘Wedding Tool Kit’. I checked it out this week and found it so helpful…just print it out and use it as part of your wedding binder!
Although this may be an afterthought for some, one of my first searches for wedding day clothing and accessories was my after-party dress. I want something modern, chic and non-typical…here are a few of my faves right now.

While I was away from Weddings, Tents & Events on a stay-cation for the Holiday, my (now) fiance, Andrew and I got engaged!
