Wedding Wear for Fall

Deciding what to wear to an outdoor ceremony during this time of year can be difficult- the temperatures vary and once the sun sets it is brisk. We have suggestions on looks that are elegant and will keep you warm.

Untitled #23

Things to consider when selecting your outfit:

Length: choosing a dress that is longer in length or that has sleeves will keep you warmer.

Fabric: selecting a fabric that is thicker and breathable can help; a great option is cotton.

Outerwear: choose a coat that is fitted and that goes with the dress you have chosen, it is a great way to make your look more pulled together and sophisticated.

Shoes: when deciding on what shoes to wear, we recommend wearing close-toe shoes or booties, depending on which suits the event and your overall look.

Five trends for a fall wedding

Vermont is known for the stunning scenery during this time of the year. With inspiration to be found all around, we have put together a list of the top five trends for this fall.

  1. Romantic Lighting:  To accomplish the perfect ambiance we recommend using various lighting, with the use of chandeliers, string lighting, lanterns or candles.
  2. Natural and clean centerpieces: Take inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Vermont this time of year and incorporate them into your event.
  3. Personalized touches: A great way to make your wedding even more intimate is to add special touches. We suggest personalizing the décor, napkins, table numbers, escort cards, and creating individual wedding favors.
  4. Trending Vermont locations: Stowe, Jay Peak, Essex, Mad River Valley.
  5. Fabric that works this year: Lace, cotton, satin.

Summer by the Sea Inspiration

Chevron stripes are a great way to add a statement to a table setting. The inspiration for this design was the sea. The centerpieces were simple and natural with shells and rope around the vase. Shells on the name cards were used to further push the theme.
For those of you who prefer solid linen, a runner or napkins would be a great alternative to the tablecloth. Both would complement a monochromatic floral arrangement.

Summer Sorbet Inspiration

With all this rainy weather, we wanted to brighten your summer wedding inspiration with sweet sorbet colors.

These fun colors add the perfect pop to a summer wedding and there are many ways you can incorporate them into your design.

Add a pop of color to your wedding stationery with shades of sorbet.

Letting your bridal party choose a different shade in the sorbet family is a fun way to keep them coordinated while showing their individual personalities. Adding a pattern could make for a whimsical bridal party as well!

Drinks that match the decor are a fun way to spread the theme to every area of your big day.

Bright flowers paired with monochromatic vases and decor are an excellent way to add a summery, but not juvenile feel to your wedding design.

Happy Summer!

Bold & Bright

Today we are here to share Summer Wedding Trends from the bridal team over at Martha Stuart weddings. From bold accents, minimalist sheath to hot pink, with over 40 themes, you are sure to find the perfect theme for your celebration! Here are some of our favorites:

Two Tone Table

Bold accents pop against white table, linens, chairs and plates. The inspiration comes from the sheet of wrapping paper at the center that ties everything together. Try out this theme with a bright pop of color like cobalt blue or pink for an extra feel of summer.

A Chic Setting

Bowls with floating candles, peonies, roses, and ranunculuses dot a boldly striped runner. The neutral linens give the eye a place to rest. This theme is perfect for a summer night celebration. Choose soft/neutral colors for the perfect chic setting.

Cake For One

Try out this fun idea for your summer celebration. These monogrammed groom’s cakes were given to all of the wedding. The cakes were tucked into boxes and bounded with bows and tied into the wedding theme of purple.

Basket Of Berries

This cake represents summer! Early summer is the best time to choose a cake like this one- brimming with a fresh and varied assortment of the season’s best berries.

The Frill Of It

Get creative with this DIY- Cherry poppies don’t have to be in season for you to make this fondant, covered cake. Fashion crepe-paper ones yourself or look for similar ones at the craft store. The flowers pop against the neutral color of the cake for a fun summer feel!

Flower-Wrapped Favors

Wrap favors in brightly colored paper and top them off with a flower- a low-cost alternative to the real thing. Pops of color add excitement to the favors and offer the perfect touch to your summer celebration.
